The program aims to prepare beginning professional nurses, who shall; render safe, competent and comprehensive nursing care to individuals, families and groups in promotive, preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative health situations in the hospital or community; be skillful in decision-making and in the use of the nursing process and problem-solving approach; have beginning skills in ward management in the hospital setting, as well as program planning, monitoring and evaluation in a community setting; demonstrate skills in interpersonal relationships with clients, peers and other member of the health team, and serve as primary health care workers in any setting.
